The digital painting course is aimed at artists who want to learn or perfect digital painting using Photoshop. A wide range of painting styles are possible in Photoshop, some of which are illustrated by our tutors here. The course does not concentrate on the principles of painting for personal pleasure, fine art, illustration and concept art.The course can be tailored to your individual needs. Some artists may be learning Photoshop or painting theory from scratch, while other may be expert in painting in other media or packages. Whether you are an expert or novice our experts will tailor the course specifically to your needs.

Over two to five intensive days we will demonstrate live painting and photoshop techniques. The longer course allows more time for you to paint your own work under the watchful eye of a real expert. Topics covered include colour theory, composition, tonal control, perspective, brush creation and management, figure painting, environment painting, texture, finding and using reference, building a portfoilo, lighting, sketching, storytelling and lessons from the masters. We also focus on special techniques or areas when requested - such as painting sea scapes, skies, anatomy, or from imagination.
